Fortnite Creative 2.0, also known as the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, has been in the works for a long time. Especially after the release of Unreal Engine 5, the community has high expectations for the mode. Fortnite Creative 2.0 will most likely change the way players create their own games and islands. From new features to the possible release date, here's everything you need to know about the new mode.

Fortnite Creative 2.0: Release Date

Epic Games announced Creative 2.0 years ago, but hasn't revealed much about it since then. But CEO Tim Sweeney recently commented on the release period. A user on Twitter asked Sweeney if Creative 2.0 should be released later this year. Sweeney replied that the update is planned for later this year, but didn't commit to an actual release date.

So we can well imagine that Creative 2.0 will be released for the big winter update in December 2022. In fact, according to Shiina, the update could be released as soon as Chapter 3 Season 5 launches.

Fortnite Creative 2.0: All new features known so far

Our good friend and Fortnite leaker HYPEX recently commented on Creative 2.0, stating that the new mode will have an "Unreal Editor for Fortnite". However, you will need to learn the scripting language to access all the features. Creative 2.0 is also designed to coexist and communicate with current devices.

Leaker InTheShadeYT also revealed a list of features coming with Creative 2.0 and Verse:

HYPEX also stated that a Verse NPC feature that works like an artificial intelligence will appear in Creative 2.0. Players will be able to move it from one point to another and the AI will confirm if the point is reached, unreachable, canceled or unsupported.

However, these are just a few known features that do not yet show the true potential of Creative 2.0. There are tons of other devices and features that will be available to developers at release.

While some players are excited to take advantage of the upcoming Fortnite Unreal Editor, others are a little intimidated by the programming language and long list of features. It is expected that newbies who have no knowledge of programming languages will need a few hours to get the hang of it.

All in all though, it looks like Fortnite will be bigger than ever with the release of Creative 2.0. While the battle royale mode may not be quite as popular as it once was in the years to come, Creative has the potential to make the franchise a game like Minecraft or Roblox.

As soon as we know more about Creative 2.0, we will of course let you know.
