The demo of an unreleased sequel to a classic PlayStation franchise appeared online: Gex Jr. Here's everything we know.

Aright, you have to have been born in the 80s or 90s to even vibe with this one, but back in the day, there was a little franchise called Gex, and Gex was legit. Gex was a little Gecko that was starring in its own games from 1995 to 1999. The gecko came courtesy of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos, who you might know as gaming-smiths behind Hitman.
Back then, the Gex franchise sold 15 million copies, before it suddenly disappeared after Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. Sure, nowadays, it sounds like a crappy franchise about a gecko, but, for one, think about what Ratchet & Clank sounds like on paper, and, for another back then... people loved Gex, and now... YouTuber justz00t found a little blast from the past: A never before seen demo of Gex Jr.
Gex Jr Demo Found
The demo is super short, but still includes the heavy pop-culture references style that the franchise was known for: Gex Jr references Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and The Empire Strikes Back, and I feel like it's the type of humor that would do well in this day and age.
Currently, the franchise is owned by SquareEnix, who filed a trademark for Gex in late 2021, so there is reason to believe that this demo didn't appear without reason: Maybe Gex is making a comeback. Given the right dressing, there is no reason why this couldn't be a hit like Ratchet & Clank.
