God of War Ragnarok Will Cost Up to $260 - Without the Disc

God of War Ragnarok revealed the prices for all its various editions, and... it's something else...

Gaming has become an expensive hobby, or rather... it's always been on the more expensive side, but now it's become a luxury hobby. It seems that the surge of of free-to-play games has given risen to a counter movement: The super-premium games, and... God of War Ragnarok is leading the charge, with versions that will set you back up to $260. Well... well if anyone's gonna do it, I guess it should be God of War...

God of War Ragnarok Collector's Edition Price

I mean, let's for a moment consider that a movie theatre visit will set you pack $20 these days. And that lasts for what... 2 hours on average? Consider that you'll be playing God of War Ragnarok for at least 10 hours, $260 doesn't sound all that insane, considering that it will be one of the most polished games out there. Still, it's a wild price-tag, but also not the only one:

  • The God of War Ragnarök Collector's Edition costs $200
  • The God of War Ragnarök Jötnar Edition will cost $260

The Jötnar edition justifies that price-tag with some physical items, as well as a vinyl soundtrack, a cloth map, a ring and pins. Both versions include a 16-inch Mjölnir replica - which, to me, gives rise to the rumors that Thor might be playable in this one. But... get this: Neither version includes a disc, since God of War Ragnarok is digital download code only.
