God of War Ragnarök is one of the most anticipated AAA games of the year. The game follows Kratos and his son Atreus on an epic adventure through the realms of Norse mythology. With an incredible story, stunning visuals and intense gameplay, God of War Ragnarök is a real blockbuster of a video game. There are many individual side quests, which tell unique stories and contribute a lot to the overall plot of the game. With so much to explore and unveil, fans are wondering how long it will take them to complete Kratos' journey through the nine realms.

The release of God of War Ragnarök was one of the biggest events in gaming of 2022. Now that the game finally got released, fans can finally start their journey with Kratos and explore this great new game.

Players who only care about completing the main storyline and don't care about side quests will probably have to spend around 25 to 30 hours to beat the game. This is quite the average playtime for a game of this size, but still a little longer than its predecessor of 2018, which took about 20 hours on average to complete the main story.

You must be aware, that only rushing through the storyline will get quite hard really fast, because the difficulty level gets higher and higher with every main quest you take. Side quests are not only providing valuable content to the game's narrative, they also give you the chance to improve your skills and upgrade your gear, which obviously makes more advanced quests easier to complete.

So why would anyone want to miss out on all the amazing side quests? God of War Ragnarök offers a bunch of optional content, which is filled with thrilling side stories, challenging bosses and opportunities to improve your abilities. It would be a great shame to miss out on all the awesome content in God of War. What about the real hardcore folks out there, who want to complete the game with no less than 100%?

If you plan to play through the entire game, collect all the goodies you can find, and reach the full 100%, you would probably need 45 to 50 hours of gameplay.
