Overwatch 2 Halloween Event: Twitch Drops, Skins, PvE Mode, Release Date

The Overwatch 2 Halloween event has started and offers players a bunch of rewards to enjoy. And of course a very well known co-op game mode is back in the game now. Here is everything you need to know about Haloween in Overwatch.

The Spooky Season in Overwatch 2 has begun. Thank goodness, Blizzard didn't take away one of our favorite events with the update to Overwatch 2. However, some things are different this year, and not everyone will be too happy about that. To ease your worries a little bit: Yes, there are also free rewards. Here is everything you should know about the Halloween Terror event of 2022, and how to claim free rewards and spooky new skins.

The Halloween Terror event started on October 25 and continues until November 9.

Overwatch 2 Halloween Event: Everything New

In a recent blog post, Blizzard has finally and officially announced the Halloween Terror event of this year. For the past six years, all the Halloween collectables like spooky skins and spays were rewarded for completing challenges or available in event lootboxes. But now that Overwatch 2 is free-to-play and has a battlepass system with many in-game purchases, the annual event looks a little different this year.

For me, the worst case scenario has happened. Apart from a few twitch drops, it is near impossible to get Halloween items without having to spend real-life money.

Of course, every Halloween-themed item from the past will be available to buy through the whole event.

Here is everything new that comes with the Halloween Terror event this year:

  • Legendary Witch Kiriko Skin
  • Legendary Executioner Junker Queen Skin
  • Legendary Cursed Captain Reaper Skin
  • New PvE Mode – Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride.
  • Halloween Themed Collectables

The new PvE Mode is a 4-player co-op sequel to the original Junkenstein's Revenge game mode. Apparently, the playable heroes are Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, and Ashe – pure girlpower, I love it!

Get Halloween Skins For Free

The one thing that everyone just hates about Overwatch 2 is the fact that you can barely get anything without having to spend real money on the game. Legendary skins are super expensive. Most of them cost about 1900 or 2000 Overwatch coins, which equals around $20 – insane, right? Well, let's wait until we see the prizes for this year's Halloween event skins...

At least Blizzard included a few Twitch Drops and freebies for us, so that everyone has a chance of getting something for free. As an apology for the screwed up launch of Overwatch 2, players can get the Cursed Captain Reaper Skin for free.

We may not get any skins as a reward for in-game challenges, but we still have Twitch Drops! All channels streaming under the Overwatch 2 category will have them during October 25 through November 6 at 11:00 a.m.

When watching your favorite Twitch streamers, you will be rewarded with a Werewolf Winston spray after two hours, and the legendary Werewolf Winston skin after 4 hours.
