Santa Monica Studios is known for the God of War series, but now it seems they are willing to expand their gaming portfolio.
Santa Monica Studios is seeing other people. Literally. The devs put out a job posting, looking for a talent for an "unannounced title". Could this unannounced title be another God of War? Sure, but with them having announced that God of War Ragnarok is the last God of War game set up North, it is unlikely that they are this quick to set up a new God of War series. That means... Kratos... it's not just about you anymore.
Santa Monica Studios Working on New Game
Here's what the job listing asks for:
They will coordinate large teams of artists across multiple subject areas to execute on the creative promise for a large-scale new project. The ideal candidate has been in a Senior/Lead role on multiple titles and is able to bring to bear their expertise in content creation, collaboration, and communication to craft immersive and engaging player experiences.
Of course, we have no way of knowing what game this is, except that it's "large". While there are rumors of a new God of War storyline being set in Egypt, it is very unlikely that this would happen so soon after the Northern saga wraps. If this does end up being a new title, it would be the first internal game that Santa Monica has worked on that is not God of War. With their track record of quality... whatever this game is, it's going to be huge.
