Twice a year, speedrunners from all around the world gather under the 'Games Done Quick' banner to play tons of games as fast as possible for charity. During the events, we've witnessed some peculiarities, from blindfolded runs to playthroughs using a dance mat. Now, for the first time, a dog has managed to showcase his skills, and it's the cutest thing you've ever seen.

Good Boy Peanut Butter Speedruns Through NES Game Gyromite

The Shiba Inu, going by the name of Peanut Butter, and his owner, retro speedrunner JSR_, teamed up to tackle Gyromite, a platformer released in 1985 on the NES. In the game, you play as Professor Hector, traversing his expansive laboratory in order to collect and defuse dynamite which is scattered across his lab.

The old school platformer has a game mode where the scientist automatically moves right, and the player needs to ensure that the appropriate pipes are open as he moves. This is the mode that Peanut Butter played with a custom-made controller under the guidance of JSR_.

The team managed to complete the game in 26:24 minutes. Unfortunately, it wasn't a world record, but that opportunity was missed because the game did something that never happened before, causing the professor to run into a game over.

It was the most adorable speedrun ever and super impressive too, with how long Peanut Butter was able to stay focussed. All the while he looked about stunning with his little bow tie. No less impressive was JSR_'s handling of his best friend, with whom he trained daily for a year. During the performance, it became evident how closely connected the two are. Thanks for this memorable moment at GDQ!
