It's off-season time, which means players and teams will be shuffled around and moving on. Faker has already made it clear what he will be doing in 2023, but what about C9, the hope of NA? What will happen in 2023?

In a recent roster announcement Cloud9 has revealed their plans for the 2023 season. Which players are staying and who is leaving this storied NA org? Let's go over the details right now.

C9 Roster Mostly Stays Intact

Cloud9 recently won the 2022 LCS Championship in the summer, thus going into the tournament as the best NA team. After a rocky start in 2022 it seems like the team is going to go back to it's roots in 2023 and not make many drastci changes for the next year.

According to the roster announcement on Twitter, four of the five players from the 2022 Summer Split will be returning to don the white and blue jersey of Cloud9.

Ibrahim ‘Fudge’ Allami, Robert ‘Blaber’ Huang, Kim ‘Berserker’ Min-cheol, and Jesper ‘Zven’ Svenningsen will all be returning to the LCS in 2023 for Cloud9. This leaves only the mid lane spot empty which had previously belonged to Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen.

The spot in the mid lane has also been filled already with none other than Dimitri ‘Diplex’ Ponomarev. He is a young player who previously spent time playing in the LFL for Vitality's Academy Team.

With the addition of Diplex, Cloud9 gains a great teamfighter, as well as a master with melee champions. This is very different compared to the late game mages Jensen played beforehand. But Diplex is still very young and can grow to widen his champion pool, as well as become the player C9 needs him to be.

C9 have also re-signed Alfonso ‘Mithy’ Rodríguez as their head coach, who had spent a year with 100 Thieves. He has already coached C9 before in 2021 so he is familiar with the org and the way the team operates. Will this be the team to bring honour back to NA?
