LoL Ranked Borders To Be Updated

Riot is working on improving the visuals of the client. One way they're doing this, is by updating the ranked borders in your profile.

Have you wanted to show off your ranked status? Well, Riot is going to be improving the visuals on your ranked borders and everything else quite soon! There will be lots of new ways to show off just how good – or bad – you are at League of Legends.

In a recent Twitter thread, Jordan Checkman, Design Lead, Competitive Initiative explained the changes that will be implemented into the League of Legends client to better visualize one's hard work.

What Will Be Added to Ranked Borders?

According to the thread on Twitter, there will be multiple additions to the ranked border. One of the most welcomed changes comes with the inclusion of one's ranked division into the border. But that is not all that will be added.

Riot also plans to add in hovercards, as well as the ranked division displayed in one's loading screen and in the lobby and profile. So if you’re hardstuck Silver III, then everyone will get the memo. You can’t hide from your Diamond II friends anymore.

That isn’t although, since we’ll be receiving the challenge's menu soon as well. Riot is working hard to make one's profile much more prestigious. So if you’re stuck in Gold, but your friend swears you’re Bronze, Riot will make the difference between the two ranks much more visually obvious.

Of course, if you aren’t a scrub like most of us, then Riot will also make the ranked borders much more prestigious for you. So make sure to get that climb going, so you can gain some cool honors in the loading screen and scare off opponents.

When Will These Changes Go Live?

A set date for the updates hasn’t been announced yet. It could be coming live with LoL Patch 12.02, or at a later date. We will have to see how PBE pans out and whether these changes are currently being tested in the client.

Until then, you will have to make do with the current ranked borders in your profile. As mentioned, challenges will also be coming to the client soon, so even if you aren’t into ranked, you’ll be able to rake in the honors and be able to show off your unique brand of League of Legends soon.
