After his spectacular performance in Shogun, Cosmo Jarvis now appears in front of the camera as a young Stalin.

Cosmo Jarvis, protagonist of the popular Netflix series “Shogun”, is now starring in the latest biopic, which is supported by a very special company.
The Russian Underground And A Bank Heist
Cosmo Jarvis will play the lead role in the new biopic Young Stalin by director Géla Babluani. The film aims to shed light on the early life of the then Russian dictator, his path to power, rather than a picture of him ruling over so many. The focus is on the Russian underground - and the biggest bank robbery in Russia's history. The film is backed by an investor who has also been involved in some of the best films of recent years.
The company in question is Access Entertainment, which is owned by oligarch Len Blavatnik. It backed the Oscar-winning Holocaust film The Zone of Interest, which deliberately divided viewers, and last year's hit film Conclave (which even the cardinals watched for the papal election!).

A Movie About The Longest Of Shadows
Director Géla Babluani recently directed the Hollywood remake 13 of his 2005 film 13 Tzameti. Even before the film was shown in theaters, Brad Pitt secured the rights to the remake, which was then shown in our cinemas in 2010 with a star-studded cast. He had this to say about directing the Stalin film:
I’ve always been drawn to stories that live in the shadows, and there’s no shadow longer than Stalin’s. This isn’t a portrait of power — it’s a descent into the fire that forged it. With Cosmo, we have a lead actor who understands danger, charm and the fractures of identity.
The producing team is then completed by:
- Sam Taylor of F&ME (known for Before the Rain)
- Katcharava of 20 Steps (known for Girls of the Sun)
- Archil Gelovani of IFP (known for April)
- Alexander Kushaev (known for The Painted Bird)
- Rupert Lloyd (Fingersmith)
- Gunda Bergmane
- Esko Rips (known for Totally Boss)
Blavatnik and his Access Entertainment is executive, together with Danny Cohen and Vince Holden.

Are you excited about this biopic? Or is the topic a bit too heavy?
