It almost looks like Rockstar Games is trolling fans who are desperately waiting for new content.

Rockstar Games has published a new trailer – but not for GTA 6, the thing everyone's waiting for.
GTA 6 And The Never Ending Wait For Some New Info
12 years after the release of the infamous open-world action-adventure GTA 5, fans are still waiting for a successor. While Rockstar did publish a trailer in December 2023 and announced that the game is supposed to be released in the fall of 2025, they haven't revealed any more details.
This has led to a lot of speculation with fans desperately trying to find out more about the desperately awaited title. Just recently, some fans believed they had found the exact release date in the 12-year-old game Max Payne. Still, Rockstar has been quiet and nothing is officially confirmed.
Of course, the studio's social media channels have a lot of subscribers waiting for new content. And they got that now – except it's not at all what they were hoping for.
Rockstar Games Posts Rom-Com Trailer
On March 6, Rockstar Games posted a trailer, not for GTA 6 but for a Romantic Comedy movie:
From our friends Nick Love and Danny Dyer, the absolute legends behind The Football Factory...@MarchingPowder_ - a proper naughty comedy out tomorrow in the UK and Ireland.Get tickets now at https://t.co/Zj4EBgRKVO and look out for details on worldwide release soon. pic.twitter.com/15u4DEpeDW

The fact that they'd apparently rather advertise someone else's movie than their own upcoming game got them mixed reactions, with some people being upset at the lack of new content while others offered a more humorous response:
Rockstar be posting anything other than GTA 6 💀 - @CFCBOYO96 on X
Where’s what we actually wanted? 🤨 - @Soulbound_TV on X

We'll see whether or not Rockstar will publish new content before the actual game release – maybe the secrecy is part of the promotion?
