Every Game Mode in Valorant

Drop & top with every game mode in Valorant!

Valorant Unrated

Unrated

The Unrated game mode is considered to be the normal way of playing Valorant matches. That's where you start as a beginner and continue playing if you want to practice or just have fun. An Unrated match is a 5v5 experience where the first team to reach 13 rounds wins, with a Sudden Death round if the match ends in a 12-12. But even though nothing's at stake in Unrated matches, some players still consider it the pinnacle of gameplay and push out toxicity, especially Duelists. Nevertheless, Unrated will always be the first instance of training before a Competitive match and having fun! | © Riot Games

Valorant Competitive

Competitive

The Competitive game mode is where all players go to improve their skills and show off their rank for the running Act. Everything's the same as an Unrated match, except with an added bonus of a match ending in Overtime at 12-12, where a team will have to win 2 matches one after the other. And if it's rightfully chosen so by the players, the round can end in a Draw. Competitive also has the Ranking system and distribution. You play to compete, to defeat your peers in the rank, and move forward. And if you get stuck on a specific rank, be prepared to train, so you can go even further within the ranks! | © Riot Games

Valorant Spike Rush

Spike Rush

The Spike Rush game mode is one of the most controversial and critiqued game modes in Valorant. In one half, you get yourself a rush of adrenaline with special abilities around the map and a short blast of a game. On the other half, you can't choose your weapons because everyone plays with the same one given by the game. The first team to secure 4 rounds wins. What's most critiqued about this game mode is the reason 90% of why Valorant players actually play Spike Rush: to finish their missions faster. Depending on your taste, you may either find Spike rush a lot of fun, or just plain stupid. | © Riot Games

Valorant Deathmatch

Deathmatch

The Deathmatch game mode is where you'd usually go to improve your aim and prepare yourself before a Competitive match. Deathmatch doesn't have abilities, the main purpose and focus of this game mode is the aim. And the best part about Deathmatch: there is no respawn time! As soon as you die, you respawn at a random location of the map after a couple of seconds. A round of Deathmatch ends once someone reaches 40 kills or after 9 minutes have passed. Deathmatch activates your capacity for shooting in a fast-paced environment, and that's why you should play it more often! | © Riot Games, Screencapture

Valorant Snowball Fight

Snowball Fight

The Snowball Fight game mode is a rotating mode that appears around Christmas. If you ask me, it's one of the funniest ways of playing Valorant! In Snowball Fight, you're given one weapon that shoots bouncing snowballs, instantly killing the enemy on impact. Like Spike Rush, there are gifts around the map that grant special power-ups and perks. The Snowball Fight game mode is the perfect way to celebrate the Christmas spirit in Valorant! | © Riot Games, Screencapture

Valorant Replication

Replication

The Replication game mode is probably the best game mode in Valorant. When you hop in a Replication match, everyone chooses an agent in the lobby. Then the game chooses a random pick, and everyone has to play that agent. At first, this may not sound fun, but just imagine choosing Sage and using 5 revives, or choosing Brimstone and literally making the map unseeable with 15 clouds of smoke! By far Replication has to be one of the craziest game modes ever in Valorant. | © b_sousa, Reddit

Valorant Escalation

Escalation

Enjoying the Escalation game mode depends on what the system chooses. Escalation is somewhat of a Deathmatch mode, except you play in a 5v5 scenario where the weapons are randomly chosen and can be unlocked after the team has reached a specific amount of kills towards new levels. The weapons can vary from a Phantom to Raze's ultimate ability. The team that finishes all the 12 weapon levels wins. If you want a fun and hyped scenario with friends in Valorant, Escalation is for you! | © Riot Games

Valorant Practice Modes

Practice Modes

The Practice modes in Valorant are the most underrated ones and for a reason. Although they can help beginners out to get a good grasp of the game, they don't provide much value to veterans and pros... except for the Practice Range. That is where everyone can train their aim and reflexes on the provided tools. The best part about these tools is that you can choose the respawn rates and everything based on your skill level and preference. Doing a Deathmatch round and 10 minutes of Practice Range training is the best way to prepare yourself for a Competitive match! | © Riot Games, Screencapture
