New Scooby-Doo Show "Velma" Goes Woke And Fans Are Furious

So with HBO Max giving the Scooby-Doo franchise a new movie, there will also be a show, focusing on one of the fan favorites, Velma. HBO just dropped the trailer for this new series and I heard it is pretty woke, so let's take a closer look.

With the launch of the new Scooby-Doo movie, finally my girl Velma is getting a little more love and attention, receiving her very own TV Show. The movie launched on October 4th and confirmed something I definitely didn't think about when I was a little kid. Velma's sexuality. With this movie now it is canon, that Velma is a lesbian, something rule 34 artists are already integrating into their work.

Btw. Velma is also a character in MultiVersus if you didn't know:

Now with the trailer to her new origin story, something else became canon.

Velma sure is looking kind of different in this trailer. New haircut? Hmm, maybe it is because she is supposed to be younger in this series, but she looks kind of different. Or maybe it is, because Velma is now a person of color. I'm sure that won't cause any problems for die hard fans (or racists). It already did? Damn. That was fast.

In the description of the trailer, they call her:

the unsung and under appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang

Well, that couldn't be farther from the truth. People love Velma! So I don't know if they are too happy with her change of design. Sadly, they gave her the Lola Bunny treatment too. Sad Life.

I think the show runners just wanted to make her look closer to her voice actor, Mindy Kaling. Let's see if they do the same with Daphne (Constance Wu), Shaggy (Sam Richardson) and Fred (Glenn Howerton). The cast is pretty stacked for this one, but sadly we will be missing Scooby. That's the part I'm probably most furious about!

Will we maybe see him alongside Shaggy in MultiVersus?

The show will be premiering in 2023, so let's see what else the show runners have in store for us. Shaggy might actually be black. That would generate some more hilarious replies, by racists who think a little change like that will destroy their childhood memories.
