The FIFA 22 eChampions League Final is almost upon us. After three qualifying phases, what started as the 256 best players in Europe has been narrowed down to just eight, who will compete for the $75,000 top prize and that coveted eChampions League trophy.

FIFA 22 eChampions League: Start Date

The FIFA 22 eChampions League is a unique tournament in the FIFA esports calendar as it is tied directly to its real-life counterpart, taking place the day before the UEFA Champions League proper. The tournament is the game's most prestigious solo event, in an esport calendar that has seen the inclusion of many duos events.

And while it will be the Stade de Princes in Paris that will host the Liverpool versus Real Madrid match, for the FIFA 22 pros, they will be heading to Stockholm, Sweden – also the site of the tournament’s knockout stages held at the end of April.

With the UEFA Champions League final taking place on May 28, that means the FIFA 22 eChampions Final will take place on Friday, May 27.

Last year, Norway’s Oliver 'OliverPN' Provstgaard Nielsen lifted the title in an all-online format. However, with COVID restrictions largely lifted, this year’s final will be played in person, with tournament organizers hoping that a live audience can be in attendance.

You will be able to watch the one-day tournament live on the FIFA esports’ Twitch or YouTube channel.

FIFA 22 eChampions League: Teams

Eight players will take to the stage, but only one will emerge as champion. While it is primarily a European competition, with the prize pool being the biggest in FIFA esports, players like Nicolas ‘nicolas99fc’ Villalba decided to move to Europe to compete - a gamble that paid off as he secured his place in the final.

Also in attendance is Fnatic’s Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt, who won the event in 2020.

  • Ali ‘Predator’ Oskoui Rad (Werder Bremen)
