Titled The Unseen Update – and no, we didn’t see it coming – this marks the third and final major patch of Hades 2's early access cycle. And like the updates before it, it's absolutely packed with content.

Narcissus Art Finally Revealed – And He’s Glorious

Among the many additions, the clear standout – at least according to the internet – is the long-awaited official art for Narcissus. After months of placeholder art, the vain demigod now presents himself in full narcissistic glory (he's the original narcissist after all..), and fans are thirsting.

Twitter (or X, if we must) is flooded with screenshots and thirst posts, while Reddit threads are full of users joking, “Echo, I get you…”

“We finally have Narcissus' character art,” one Redditor wrote. “I thought it was so funny and ironic that he's one of the few we still had stand-in art, given how he never shuts up about how beautiful he is.”

More Weapons, More Bosses, More Chaos

But while Narcissus is turning heads, the real meat of the update is under the hood. Supergiant describes The Unseen Update as focused on “expanding core combat, Guardian encounters, and character relationships.” That includes new story events, more music, and a healthy dose of combat rebalancing.

Most notably, the update introduces the Hidden Aspects of the Nocturnal Arms, giving each weapon an entirely new fighting style to unlock. The often-polarizing Umbral Flames, for example, has been completely overhauled with a faster, snappier combat style.

Other changes include:

  • New Warden enemies in Erebus and Ephyra
  • Auto-Fire toggle, letting players hold or tap for attacks
  • Bug fixes and adjusted voice lines
  • Expanded optional story events to deepen relationships

A Content-Rich Early Access Journey

Fans are blown away not just by this update, but by how much the game has evolved during early access as a whole.

One fan posted:

“I already have 200 hours clocked in. The EA started with so much content and has steadily evolved. The game never felt incomplete—they definitely learned a lot from Hades 1 early access.”

Another player wrote:

“It feels like they've added so much with this update, and yet we're still not at 1.0 yet. The final release is going to be bursting at the seams.”

The Final Stretch Before Full Launch

This marks the final major content update before Hades 2 leaves early access. From here, Supergiant says it’s focused on polishing the game, adding achievements, and preparing the "true ending" for the full 1.0 launch.

“We're heading into the final phase of Hades 2 development,” the team shared. “Please note we do not yet have a v1.0 launch date, though we'll share more as soon as we can. We really appreciate your patience on this!”

“Sometimes the last stretch of development on a game can make all the difference, so we have always taken this phase seriously and appreciate your continued support",

the post adds.

Watch The Trailer, Read The Notes, Swoon Responsibly

If you're curious about everything included, the official patch notes break down the update in full, and the update trailer offers a solid peek at what’s new – including, yes, a few close-ups of Narcissus’ impossibly perfect face.
