The reliable reported Jason Schreier from Bloomberg recently published an article saying that we can expect FOUR new Assassin's Creed titles to be announced very soon!
Jason Schreier, the infamous Bloomberg reporter, just recently published an article revealing that Ubisoft will soon announce FOUR new Assassin's Creed games on their Ubisoft Forward event on September 10.
The announcement will supposedly contain one new mobile game and three completely new full-fledged AC games, one of which will be the recently leaked and also confirmed Assassin's Creed Mirage. Thanks to Schreier, we have more info on the three big AC titles. See all the details here.
Assassin's Creed Mirage
The recently confirmed Valhalla spin-off Assassin's Creed Mirage, which was developed under the code-name Rift, will be one of the four games we are supposed to see on Saturday's Ubisoft Forward. As we already knew, the game is set in Baghdad and will be playing in the 800s. Jason Schreier also added, that initially Ubisoft planned on releasing Mirage as a DLC for their most recent game Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which launched in 2020. It's predicted that the new edition of Assassin's Creed ditches many of its RPG-like mechanics and shifts the focus back to stealth, like in the older games. We can expect the game to be launched in early 2023.
Assassin's Creed: Code Name Red
We already discussed the long-awaited Assassin's Creed version playing in Japan in an earlier article, but now we finally got the confirmation – at least from probably the most reliable source when it comes to gaming. As it was expected, the new AC game which is being developed under the code name "Red" by Ubisoft Quebec is going to be another open-world game joining the Assassin's Creed universe.
Assassin's Creed: Neo / Hexe
The third reveal which is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal will probably also be part of the Ubisoft Forward next Saturday and is set in the "latter stages of the Holy Roman Empire", which leaves room for interpretation. Because of the size of the Holy Roman Empire and the extremely long time it existed, we don't know the exact time and the exact place. We could get a huge map which features the whole of the Holy Roman Empire, or just get a section of the empire to play with. Let's hope that we get more info on that on Saturday.
More on the releases
According to Bloomberg, all three of the games I just mentioned will be part of Ubisoft's new live-service Assassin's Creed Infinity. Confronted with a question on the projected release dates for the new AC titles, an Ubisoft spokesperson denied answering, but we can expect Neo and Red to be released no earlier than 2024. One of the games will probably not even be released until 2025 or 2026, because of how big these kinds of video games are nowadays and because of how frequent delays of releases became in the industry. An interesting bit of information is that Tencent Holding Ltd., which is a big investor in Ubisoft, will double its stakes. So the developers will probably have more resources to put into the upcoming AC titles.
