What happens when a franchise needs to be refreshed & renewed for a younger generation? You spend years developing the game to ensure everything is perfect, and that’s what Forza Motorsport is doing right now, with Turn10 Studios at the helm.

Unlike other entries in the Forza Motorsport franchise, this upcoming game is considered an unofficial reboot. But that isn’t surprising when considering the last entry in this franchise came in 2017, and five years is far too long for Forza Motorsport to disappear.

Everyone has presumed that Microsoft and Turn10 Studios would launch Forza Motorsport onto the Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, recent information suggests that the Xbox One will also be supported for Forza Motorsport. This would be amazing for anyone that hasn’t upgraded yet. However, the visual fidelity would be considerably worse on the Xbox One. But that isn’t bad for PC players, as GPUs and CPUs that are slightly outdated will still be capable of playing this upcoming racing simulator.

We won’t get more information on Forza Motorsport until the Xbox & Bethesda June 2022 Showcase, where it’s almost guaranteed that Microsoft will show more footage of Forza Motorsport. Still, there hasn’t been an official announcement that Forza Motorsport will be displayed at the June 2022 Showcase. The lack of Forza Motorsport would be suggestive that Turn10 Studios hasn’t entered the final stages of development, and after five years, that’s unlikely.

Regardless of when Forza Motorsport is released by Microsoft, this racing simulator will arrive on PC through the Xbox Store.

This Is The All-New Forza Motorsport!

Imagine the photorealistic beauty and immersive gameplay of Forza Horizon. Now maximize it for the next-generation, and you get the upcoming Forza Motorsport. We can expect sweeping corners with amazing straights for overtaking, as was seen in Maple Valley during the Xbox & Bethesda 2022 Showcase. But these weren't the only things shown, as Turn 10 Studios noted that they've improved the fidelity of Forza Motorsport's physics simulation engine by 47x. In turn, the gameplay we'll all experience will have a heightened level of realism. We're anticipating that this should make overtaking more difficult, and therefore, more satisfying.

The generational leap that was shown throughout the Forza Motorsport Gameplay Demo was incredible to witness, as Turn 10 Studios have included numerous technologies that coincide with next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X/S. The technological advancements that were mentioned included:

  • Advanced Rendering and Procedural Generation Techniques
  • Photogrammetry and 3D Material Scans
  • Advanced Material and Shaders
  • Ray-Tracing Lighting

Simulation racing on the Xbox Series X/S will be revitalized with Forza Motorsport's introduction of these programs. For instance, ambient light is being combined with a dynamic day & night system to change the on-track temperature. Moreover, there's going to be a dynamic weather system that changes the track conditions within a short interval of time. This will be challenging to handle when also factoring the tire and fuel management systems in Forza Motorsport.

Don't forget that vehicle damage will need to be considered as well. Anyone taking an unfavorable racing line could find themselves sustaining underbody damage, front-wing damage, back-wing damage, and much more. The internals of your vehicle could also be affected when getting into an accident. Therefore, everyone will need to consider the safest racing line. Bad things could happen otherwise.

Chris Esaki, Creative Director, Turn 10 Studios: "We believe that the accuracy of our overhauled physics, the beauty of our cars and tracks, our new dynamic time of time, advanced car damage, and real-time ray-tracing on-track leads to a generational leap in immersion. This is the all-new Forza Motorsport.

When Is Forza Motorsport Coming To The PC?

We've received an official release window for the upcoming Forza Motorsport. Turn 10 Studios confirmed during the Xbox & Bethesda 2022 Showcase that Forza Motorsport will arrive for Spring 2023. It was also confirmed that this game will release for the Xbox PC Game Pass as a day-one exclusive launch. Therefore, you won't need to worry about outright purchasing this game. It will be available for download to anyone that's subscribed to the Game Pass.

EarlyGame will update you when the official release date is announced. Either way, Turn 10 Studios has entered the final stages of development for Forza Motorsport. It's coming soon!

Which PC Features Will Forza Motorsport Have?

Turn10 Studios hasn’t identified the PC Features available for Forza Motorsport. However, assumptions can be made based on recent racing simulators. For instance, Forza Horizon 5 had third-party wheel support.

  • Xbox & Steam Cloud Support
  • 3rd Party Wheel Support
  • 60FPS to 120FPS

The 5th Forza Horizon was updated to allow 60-120 FPS, and that update should convert over towards Forza Motorsport. Moreover, inside sources have suggested that ray-tracing lighting and dynamic shadows will be built into the 8th Forza Motorsport. But remember, Turn10 Studios hasn’t officially announced the PC features for their upcoming racing simulator. Things could change between now and the announcement.

Is Forza Motorsport Coming To The Steam Deck?

Unfortunately, Forza Motorsport won’t be playable on the Steam Deck. Some have suggested that the Xbox Store can be downloaded onto Steam, but the process is complex and could cause your handheld console to become broken.

We’re recommending that anyone reading avoid Forza Motorsport on their Steam Deck. You can choose other games like Need for Speed Heat. This is a last-generation game that’s also sanctioned for the Steam Deck. I’ve found NFS Heat more enjoyable than Forza Horizon 5. But that’s my biased opinion.

Game Trailer

Turn10 Studios couldn’t have provided a better announcement trailer for Forza Motorsport, as the improvements made to this franchise are immediately seen. We’ve never seen vehicles looking so realistic in a video game before, which makes us excited. You can’t help but become immersed in the trailer and feel the raw speed of caring flying down the track. It’s an incredible trailer that should get everyone reading excitedly.

Game System Requirements

As shown above, the realism involved with Forza Motorsport is unlike anything we’ve seen on the Xbox Series X/S. You’ll need to support powerful GPUs and CPUs to ensure that Forza Motorsport runs smoothly with next-generation graphics.

As previously mentioned, this racing simulator could also be supported for the Xbox One. If this is true, that game version would be better suited for gamers who haven’t upgraded their PC GPU or CPU in a few years. For everyone else, we’ve provided the system requirements below.
