Star Wars Eclipse Release Date: Latest News, Leaks & More

Become a Jedi Master or Sith Lord during the High Republic Era in Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dreams.

Upcoming titles like Epic Games' Rumbleverse and Wonder Woman were announced at the 2021 Game Awards to international applause. This caused other games to go unnoticed, including Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dreams, which is surprising because this game will maintain adult themes with emotional storylines.

When I’d learned that Quantic Dreams is developing a Star Wars game for the PS5 and Xbox Series X, there was an immediate interest. Unfortunately, minimal information has been provided for this upcoming title and extensive research was needed to reveal what Star Wars Eclipse can offer players. Fortunately, I’ve documented everything you’ll need to know down below.

When Is The Star Wars Eclipse Release Date?

[Update 26 April, 22]

Development Going Better Than Expected

When will Star Wars: Eclipse be released? According to a renowned insider, it could be as early as 2025. The development is going much better than some speculations of the last months would have us believe. Shortly after the announcement, there were even rumors that there were problems with the development and that a release was not expected before 2026 or 2027.

If you believe the statements of the insider AccountNgt. According to his information, a release of Star Wars: Eclipse in 2025 is quite realistic. Rumors should always be treated with caution, of course, but AccountNgt has already proven that he has reliable information. He spoke weeks before the official announcement of Star Wars: Eclipse and even published screenshots that would later be part of the official marketing material.

Leaker Tom Henderson claims that the Star Wars Eclipse Release Date shouldn't be expected before 2027. Here's what he had to say:

As you can see in the tweet, Henderson claims that Quantic Dream have issues with hiring enough staff. And if you know what went on in that company, you wouldn't be surprised... I'll let you google that one

Game Setting & Story for Star Wars Eclipse

Quantic Dreams haven’t revealed the storyline details for Star Wars Eclipse. However, confirmations regarding the game setting were made, with players being allowed to explore the High Republic Era. Unfortunately, which planetary systems we’ll be capable of exploring hasn’t been confirmed yet. The trailer footage suggests that Coruscant and Tatooine will become playable locations, though. Other rumors indicate the Outer Rim could be the setting for Eclipse. This could mean bounty hunters & smugglers will become the primary characters for Star Wars Eclipse.

Bounty hunters & smugglers provide more storyline opportunities to Quantic Dreams. These individuals in the Star Wars universe aren’t afraid of committing crimes or deceiving their friends. Incredible stories that aren’t generally told within this universe could be shown in Eclipse. I’d relish the opportunity to experience adult-oriented gameplay similar to BioWare’s Mass Effect.

Is Star Wars Eclipse Getting Released Onto Xbox And PC?

Yes, Star Wars Eclipse will release on Xbox’s and PCs. However, next-generation consoles and graphic cards are needed to operate this game. We’re unaware if Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 3060 Series could handle this upcoming title. Quantic Dreams is known for developing graphically intensive games that could destroy outdated GPUs.

Is Star Wars Eclipse Part Of The Game Pass On Xbox

Details regarding the possibility of Star Wars Eclipse launching onto the Xbox game pass haven’t been provided to date. Truthfully speaking, the chances are dismal because millions are being spent to develop this title. It’ll take some time for Microsoft to receive permission after Star Wars Eclipse has launched. As such, we wouldn’t anticipate Eclipse being on the game pass until 2025.

When Quantic Dreams revealed their cinematic trailer for Star Wars Eclipse, I immediately became curious about what gameplay mechanics & story components would be involved with the development phase. I’ve obtained some insider information and guess what? Star Wars Eclipse will stand amongst the first action-adventure game Quantic Dreams has developed.

They’ll be adding updated forms of combat to support lightsaber battles, meaning that bounty hunters & smugglers aren’t the exclusive character classes in Star Wars Eclipse. We’ll have options to compete with Jedi Masters and Sith Lords. Truthfully, I’m pretty intrigued at the thought of playing alongside these characters during the high republic era.

Otherwise, I’ve learned that story-based decisions are essential with this game. You’ll be required to create your journey and poor decisions could see your character turning towards the dark side. For me, I’ll lean towards the light side. It’d be interesting to recreate a feeling that resembles Mace Windu or Anakin Skywalker. Unfortunately, I’ve got to wait like everyone else.

Is Star Wars Eclipse Getting A Female Protagonist?

I’m expecting two protagonists for this upcoming title. It’s standard for Quantic Dreams to develop a male & female protagonist for their video games. However, details regarding those protagonists and their involvement within the Star Wars universe aren't known for now, but I’ll keep you updated whenever new information regarding the storylines, characters, and gameplay for Star Wars Eclipse is announced. Come on? Aren’t you already starting to get excited like me? Like damn, I’d preorder this game today if I could.

Game Trailer And Demo

Fortunately, Quantic Dreams released a cinematic trailer at the 2021 Game Awards. It was an incredible trailer filled with ominous tones & underworld environments within the Star Wars universe. What’s even more interesting is you’ll notice that Yoda is briefly seen amongst other footage showing a complex storyline. There isn’t any way I could describe this trailer with the honor of its beauty & amazement. So, I’ll leave you with the breathtaking images of this cinematic trailer.
