7. FUTTIES (July 15, 2022 – August 18, 2022)

FUTTIES was the last big event of FIFA 22. Okay okay, we also have the Pre-Season promo, but this one is more about FIFA 23, isn't it? Well, doesn't matter. We're here to appreciate FUTTIES because it has been our companion for a couple of weeks. During this period we saw the return of some of the most popular cards in FUT 22 as well as a bunch of amazing SBCs.

In addition, you could also vote for some players (the actual FUTTIES), who were then immortalized in the game with an SBC. A worthy conclusion for Ultimate Team, in our opinion. | © EA Sports

6. Team of the Season (April 29, 2022 – June 16, 2022)

Coming in at 6th place is the Team of the Season – the event is always amazing, of course, and this year was no different. It started out with a bang and kept the momentum going with some of the most OP cards at that time. Incredible content.

What's especially cool about TOTS is that we – the community – have such a big influence on which players end up on the team. And let's face it, we all know more about football than EA Sports, don't we? | © EA Sports

FIFA 22 Events Future Stars

5. Future Stars (February 4, 2022 – February 17, 2022)

Sure, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimović are pretty cool, but have you ever absolutely demolished the Weekend League with a 93-rated Jude Bellingham? And yes, the card still costs just under a million coins, but that just goes to show the hefty upgrades the Future Stars event has brought us in FIFA 22. From the player selection to the card design, this is definitely one of the best promos of the year. | © EA Sports

4. Shapeshifters (June 17, 2022 – July 14, 2022)

There are probably easier tasks than being the first event after Team of the Season. But EA Sports did a lot of things right with the Shapeshifters in FIFA 22. The concept with the position changes is always nice, the card design was once again #chefskiss and the upgrades had it all.

99-rated Cristiano Ronaldo and 99-rated Lionel Messi... it doesn't get any better. Siuuuu. On top of that, we got to enjoy a few new versions of the FUT Heroes. And... this doesn't count directly to the Shapeshifters event, but all the EOAE SBCs in that time were amazing value. All in all a quality event. | © EA Sports

FIFA 22 Events Fantasy FUT

3. Fantasy FUT (March 18, 2022 – March 31, 2022)

This year's Fantasy FUT was what What If should have been in FIFA 21. It's always nice when Special Cards are dynamic and thus linked to performances in real life. It's even better when many players can realistically earn their upgrades because the requirements are not that tough.

Fortunately, all of this is true for Fantasy FUT. It's a lot of work to keep the tracker constantly updated, but for these special cards (and for you too, of course, duh) we're happy to do it! | © EA Sports

2. Winter Wildcards (December 17, 2021 – December 30, 2021)

Even though many people probably still wish for FUTMAS from a few years ago to come back, Winter Wildcards was a huge upgrade to the Freeze Event from FIFA 21. No kidding, there was really a lot going on here...

Amazing players – including weak foot & skills upgrades as well as position changes – flooded the transfer market, and then we were even presented with a token system for the first time in FIFA 22. Winter Wildcards was just an awesome experience that we desperately needed after the disappointing Versus Promo... | © EA Sports

FIFA 22 Events TOTY

1. Team of the Year (January 21, 2022 – February 3, 2022)

Provided EA Sports upgrades the players accordingly, Team of the Year is definitely the highlight in FUT. This year the cards looked insanely strong – Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, N'Golo Kanté, and Achraf Hakimi were meta players while even Robert Lewandowski could be used after his stats go bumped up a notch.

In addition to the actual 12 TOTY players, Team of the Year Honourable Mentions were also released, which we obviously shouldn't forget... it's like icing on the cake. | © EA Sports

That's exactly how it should be, because just the Weekend League gameplay or the Team of the Week alone can't satisfy the Ultimate Team players anymore.
